Reading newspapers

Newspapers are very important to us. As a student, I have no time to watch news programmes on TV. Besides, watching television may b harmful to my eyes, so reading newspapers becomes the important way for me to learn about what’s happening around the world. I like to read many kinds of newspapers, such as “The Students Post”, “Shanghai Daily” and “English Coaching Paper”. But my favourite newspaper is “Xinmin Evening News” because I can get a lot of news from it. I think I will read more newspapers in the future because they are helpful to my study.

Electricity

Electricity is a good servant. It is very important in our daily life. Although it is invisible, we can use it to do many different things. At home, we use it for the lights, TVs, air conditioners and so on. Also, in factories, electricity makes the large machines work. However, electricity is also a dangerous servant. When we use it, we must be careful. Then it will give us a more colourful life.

My family life

I live with my father and mother in a big house in Shanghai. My parents are both very busy. They leave for work very early in the morning and don’t come back home until late in the evening. So I live at school on weekdays and return at weekends. When I am home from school, we spend a lot of time together. We talk about my studies, my health and my school life. I love my parents very much. So I think my family life is interesting and I don’t want to change it. I think although my parents are very busy, they still care for me. That’s enough, isn’t it?
